I went on a 30 km (that’s about 18.6 mi) hike from Kiel to Felde, around Lake Westensee, to enjoy the beautiful nature, and to get an ice cream.
Hike around Lake Westensee
Went for a hike from Kiel to Felde, around the lake “Westensee”. It’s one of my favorite locations close to my home. I truly love the nature around the lake. It’s so peaceful, mostly quiet, and just calms me down. Furthermore, while I prefer real mountains and forests, the Westensee Nature Park offers at least some hills, which I’m truly grateful for ⛰️
Here’s the link to the hike on Komoot. You can also check out this hike around Lake Westensee on Komoot, it starts and ends in Felde.

Walking 30 km for ice cream
Just a silly video of me walking 30 km for some ice cream (watch it on YouTube, or on Instagram) 🍦
You see me switching back and forth between being barefoot and wearing socks. Those who know me know that I love walking barefoot basically everywhere and all the time. However, when walking long distances, I prefer to protect my feet a little with Skinners barefoot sock shoes (not sponsored, just love them) because yes, it does hurt walking barefoot. To me they offer the best of both worlds: the barefoot feeling and the right amount of protection, especially on gravel. Barefoot is still the preferred way for me 🦶
Also for transparency: The three scenes in the beginning of the video (me standing in front of the window, closing the door, and the first walking scene) were filmed the day after. I actually wanted to go for a longer hike, not just for ice cream (I could buy ice cream in the supermarket around the corner; no need to walk that far for it), but had to stop after 31 km. I got the idea about “walking 30 km for ice cream” only at the end of the hike and therefore had to record those three scenes at a later point so I could share this as a silly story 🫣
Anyway, what I’m saying is go out and have an adventure, even if it turns out differently to how you planned it (and it probably will). Like I mentioned in a previous post, that’s something I have to do more often. And I hope you will also have many (small) adventures coming up! 🤗
Love You ❤️
Natha
